What happens to Nigel in Rio 2?

It is said that in Rio 2 Nigel gets caught in one of the Illegal loggers machines as it falls off a cliff and then he somehow makes it out a few mintuits later and attacks blu again however Jewels father knocks him off of blu causing Nigel to fall into a small gorge then one of the illegal loggers machines that is still running hits one of a old trees roots causing the old tree to fall in the gorge and supposedly crush Nigel.
