What is the bear called in neighbor totero?

There are no bears in My Neighbor Totoro. The main character, O Totoro, resembles a bear. He is a mixture of creatures and is the guardian of the forest. There are 2 smaller Totoros, named Chu and Chibi. I've heard mention of a Sleepy Bear who spins on a log on the outskirts of the forest. I'm not sure if he is part of the My Neighbor Totoro cast.
