A tablespoon or two of it can't hurt you, and it is a mono-unsaturated (healthy) fat - some people take a few tablespoons of it if they are going to be in for some heavy drinking (like a class reunion, or whatnot) because it will coat the stomach walls, slowing the absorption of alcohol.
It is, well, "oily", but has a sweet, nut-like flavor. Now, drinking a glass or two of it would be foolish and serves no purpose - and might actually make you very sick. A tablespoon or two of maple syrup wouldn't hurt you either - but a couple of glasses full of it? Ugh!
