Is marijana a depressant

Sure it is, however one must remember that it is purely psychological. Marijuana is a depressant although if you simply "psyche" yourself into thinking that your not depressed and in fact it is the side effects of the marijuana causing the feelings.... your depression should dissipate. Remember the ol' saying "Mind over matter"!
