What is Rigid Thermofoil RTF?

Thermofoil, sometimes referred to as RTF (meaning, simply Rigid Thermofoil, which is redundant since all Thermofoil is more or less rigid) is actually a form of laminate, its a vinyl film applied to a substrate with heat and pressure. Thermofoil is available in a large variety of solid colors and many patterns including woodgrains and metalics. The application process makes it possible for Thermofoil to resemble wood, marble or granite detailing more closely than laminate can. Most often used in cabinetry, Thermofoil products are easy to care for and are not likely to chip.
