How frequently does a dove lay eggs?

My ring-neck dove would lay an egg probably every 2 weeks if the egg was removed. This can cause a calcium deficiency if they continuously are laying eggs. I read online to place a small wooden egg in the nest for her to sit on to keep from laying her own- it worked.
