If you have had a local anaesthetic you shouldn't eat anything until it's worn off or else you could bite your gum or tongue (ouch!) If you didn't have an anaesthetic you can usually eat anything, just avoid hard or chewy foods. Your dentist will usually tell you when you can eat after having fillings. It can also depend on the size of the filling.
