Is money is the root of all evil an example of personification?

Not at all, many of the worlds misdeeds and evils have no connection to the greed for money. To add to the answer above the quote in The Bible says in the book of 1st Timmothy chapter 6 verse 10 "For the love of money is a root of all sorts of evil" in this verse we can see that it is not "money" yet the love of money. To follow up on above bible quote - So one could say that love is also a root of evil.
