Real Answer

200,000+

Answer:

There are very few gorillas left in the wild:

  • 125,000 western lowland gorillas living in the wild in West Central Africa. This gorilla is also the type most often seen in zoos.
  • The eastern lowland gorilla population is estimated at 5,000-15,000 in the eastern Congolese rainforest around 1960 but this has fallen to 2,500 in the wild today.
  • The mountain gorillas are the rarest only about 600 are left in the wild, about 320 in the Virunga Mountains and another 300 in the Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park in Uganda.

This would make a total count of 150 000 to 250,000.
