Browning Mag A-5 with a serial of 675 have never seen another with a 3 diget Whats up with this?

Something is not right. A three digit serial number would make it somewhere in 1901. The first 10,000 Auto 5's shipped to the USA were marked "BROWNING AUTOMATIC ARMS CO. OGDEN Utah-U.S.A."
