The Renaissance took several centuries to fully develop due to a combination of factors, including the lingering effects of the Black Death, which decimated populations and disrupted trade. Additionally, the transition from the medieval worldview to a more humanistic perspective required significant cultural and intellectual shifts that evolved gradually. Political fragmentation in Europe, along with the dominance of the Catholic Church, also slowed the spread of new ideas. It was only when these conditions began to change that the Renaissance could flourish fully.
