How long has India existed?

Indians may have been in North and South America for as long as 15,000 years. The exact number is uncertain. Much earlier dates have been proposed for a few sites but they do not seem to lead anywhere. Such a place or places may have been where a single fishing boat was blown across the ocean and a few fishermen set up a camp. Without any women along, they could not have children and have a permanent settlement. Since the question concerns when a permanent settlement occurred, the answer is about 15,000 years ago.
