What is a chronic wound?

Any un-healing wound may be described that way. One that won't heal on it's own. This can have several causes - Diabetes, infection, gangreen or even compulsive behavior that has someone constantly picking or reopening a wound. Thes wounds need medical attention as soon as possible to prevent major infection. In the northwest US there is a flesh eating bacteria that infests wounds and is critical to be attended to by a doctor as soon as possible.
