What do you do if your computer is being used as a bot?

If your saying that you believe your computer is being used by malware and a C&C. The only thing you can do is use boot n nuke to clean and sanitize the drive and reinstall your flavor of OS.

Its about the easiest way to kill something like that. If you talking a friend loaded some stupid garbage on your machine. Look through the task manager and see whats running.

The best thing for you to do to learn about your computer and what should be running and not running is actually googleing what you question running in the taskmgr.exe. Then from there you can learn if what your looking at is a false positive, a piece of malware, or nothing and just a weirdly named service for something you want running/installed.

You'll also learn if you need to go into the registry and delete keys and whatnot.

This is the best thing I can tell anyone. Knowledge is what makes this stuff go away.
