"Hachi" is the Japanese Word for "eight," but it is also associated with the Akita breed, particularly due to the famous dog Hachiko. It does not mean "husky" in English, and Akitas and Huskies are different breeds altogether. Huskies are known for their endurance and wolf-like appearance, while Akitas are larger and more robust, originally bred for hunting in Japan.
