Are turkey vultures helpful in any way?

All vultures are carrion eaters (they eat the remains of dead animals but do not kill these animals themselves). There role is to tidy up the environment as things die. To help them do this turkey vultures have one of the best developed senses of smell in the animal kingdom so that they can smell out dead animals in the jungle where the dead animal can not be seen from above because of the tree cover.
