Understood as "reasons for fighting", the main "points" of World War II differed for each side. On the part of the Axis powers, the point was to secure more regional control, to gain more (or better) economic resources, and to become dominant in the world-community. For the Allies, the point was to maintain a position of supremacy in the world-community, to protect their economic and political integrity, and to combat the expansionist moves of aggressor-nations.
