Chuckwallas reproduce through sexual reproduction, with males and females mating during the breeding season. The female lays eggs, typically in a burrow or crevice, where they are safer from predators. After an incubation period of about 60 days, the eggs hatch, and the young chuckwallas emerge, ready to fend for themselves. These lizards do not exhibit parental care after the eggs are laid.
