When was Google last updated?

Over the course of recent events, google had made improvements to Search Console Insights with the addition of a Discussion Forum filter. The announcement made by google Search Central on LinkedIn is a testament to how google wants to focus on providing more transparency and usability to website owners, especially those who operate community-oriented or forum-based websites.

This update is a very common example of the bigger fork that has arisen after google announced support for ProfilePage structured data in November 2023. From there, google has taken major steps to improve support for structured data, mainly provided by forums and social communities like Reddit.

From this update, Search Console Insight now allows:

Tracking clicks, impressions, and average search position for discussion-based content.

Using the new Discussion forums filter in the performance report.

Tracking the performance of content marked up with DiscussionForumPosting or SocialMediaPosting structured data.
