The African prince who was kidnapped and enslaved in America is Olaudah Equiano. Born in what is now Nigeria in the 18th century, he was captured and sold into slavery, eventually making his way to the Americas. Equiano later gained his freedom, became an abolitionist, and wrote an influential autobiography detailing his experiences and the horrors of slavery. His work played a significant role in the movement to abolish the transatlantic slave trade.
