A fully grown blue whale can weigh between 100 to 200 tons (approximately 90,000 to 180,000 kilograms). They are the largest animals known to have ever existed, with some individuals reaching lengths of up to 100 feet (30 meters). Their massive size is supported by their diet of tiny shrimp-like animals called krill, which they consume in large quantities.
