A serial offender was among ten people arrested in Raipur for violating two sisters.

On Raksha Bandhan, police in Chhattisgarh's Raipur district detained ten men for reportedly violating two sisters, one of whom was a juvenile, as they returned home.

According to police, one of the arrested guys had been charged in five previous criminal cases and was released on bond in another violation case just three weeks ago.

According to police, the incident occurred late Thursday night while the sisters were riding their bikes home with the elder sister's fiance.

They claimed the three were robbed of cash and cell phones before the accused took the sisters to a remote location and violated them in turns.

"Three men came to a halt in front of the bike. They (the sisters and the fiance) initially thought it was a robbery... However, the men summoned seven additional men to the scene... "They thrashed the male friend and took the girls to a secluded location where all ten of the accused took turns violating the two girls," a police officer stated.

According to authorities, the sisters hurried to the local police station and filed a FIR shortly after the event.

Raipur Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Prashant Agrawal informed The Indian Express that the police "formed seven teams, each led by a senior officer" to apprehend the offenders.

"The men had used four bikes, and the victims remembered the registration number of one of them." We tracked down the accused using this information and additional descriptions provided by victims. "Three of them were tracked down to a railway station before they could flee," added Agrawal.

The accused, who was out on bail in a prior violation case, is the son of a local BJP functionary, according to the police.

The BJP accused the police of politicizing the situation.

"The accused is not a member of the BJP." "The police are politicizing the issue to cover up their failure to prevent such crimes, despite the fact that one of the accused is a habitual offender who was recently released on bail," said Anurag Agrawal of the Chhattisgarh BJP's media cell.
