Do opposite angles of trapezium add to 180?

In a trapezium (or trapezoid in American English), the opposite angles do not necessarily add up to 180 degrees. However, the consecutive angles between the bases of the trapezium do add up to 180 degrees. This means that if you take one angle from one base and the adjacent angle from the other base, their sum will equal 180 degrees.
