How do you replace cigarette lighter in 1990 Toyota 4runner?

You need to remove the heater conrol knobs, cover plate, and a/c button. Then remove the lower trim infront of your center trim, next remove the center front trim that the cigarette lighter is located in there are a few screws holding it on then a few clips just pop off with it. Once that is removed you need to disconnect the clock, unscrew the retaining ring on cigarette outlet, disconnect the positive plug, and clip the ground wire as close as you can to the old connection. Once that has been done, get your new outlet add a fitting to the wire you just clipped and plug it all together. Reconnect everything just as you took it off.
