They are very common and considered vermin in many areas. Hunting of these creatures is encouraged in many areas. They roam a great deal of the planet, as they are extremely adaptable.

No. They used to be really scarce in Oregon when people were hunting them, but other people brought them back to Oregon on the Oregon trail. Now they are killing calves and other animals.
