Why do wild animals need camouflage?

To blend in with their surroundings, or to hide from predators. If the animals that had camouflage today didn't have it, it would be harder for survival. ( Example: A toad can be brown to blend in with the decaying dirt and leaves so a predator doesn't see it and eat it.)
