Can you find someone online

Well, I don't really have an answer to this question but I believe that there is a possibility through 'home search'because I found this site called 'restaurant search' thing and when I typed the address of my friend, it showed the place, but there was black-out then my computer shut down, so, I couldn't go back to that site because my computer restricts me to go to that freakin site.
