Absolutely not! They are way too spongy and cause pronation of the feet when walking which is evident by the uneven tread wear over time. Because of their spongy characteristic they do not stabilize the knee or ankle causing long term chronic damage. I know this because my knees began to chornically hurt by the 3rd summer of wearing Crocs and I became suspicious after seeing the clearly uneven treadwear. I went to a podiatrist and he attributed my pain partially to the Crocs then fitted me into a pair of Keen running shoes. The relief in my knees was immediate. I could literally feel the pressure shift from the painful points in my knees and redistribute more evenly. It felt like someone opened a pressure relief valve on both my knees. I was so used to wearing Crocs I had no idea how bad they were treating my knees and assumed I was just getting old or hurting them from too much exercise. I am a firm believer that Crocs are bad for your knees and probably other parts of your body as well. They feel nice and soft when you first wear them but they really put a lot of stress on your knees to keep you stable since there is so much give due to their spongy material. Just check your Crocs after a year and see how the tread is wearing. If there is substantial wear on one side of the sole you can bet that is also happening to your knees inside the joint as well.
