Does a paper clip sink or float?

It depends on the material with which the clip is made. If is made up of plastic it would float and if it is made up of metal then it would sink.

Also the way in which we place the clip would decide whether it would float or sink.

If we place even a metallic clip on the surface of water without disturbing the surface then it would float. It is due to the surface tension property of the liquid.
