It sounds like you need to adjust the thermostat on your water heater. Water heaters usually have temperature ranges from 120 to 150, and some even as high as 160.
To find the temperature control, look for a panel on the side of your water heater that most likely will need to be removed with a screw driver. After you remove it, you will see the controls that let you adjust the water heater to a highter temperature. If there are two controls, I believe you need to adjust the temperature setting on both of them to the same setting.
Some people keep the setting on their water heaters pretty low, but I prefer to keep mine up quite high. This way, there is much less chance of running out of hot water if several people need to shower because the hotter the water in the water heater, the less you use in the shower since less of it is mixed with the cold water, using less hot water.
Ans 2 Many modern shower valves have a moveable ring to set the hot water temp. Generally just a simple task of removing the handle of the shower valve and adjusting the ring.
