What did The Beatles start?

The Beginning of the Beatles was John Lennon and a couple of his school friends and it was called the Quarrymen. Then Paul McCartney joined and George Harrison joined. Richard Starkey (aka Ringo Starr) replaced the drummer Pete Best and they became the Beatles.
