How much manga and anime make a year?

I'm assuming this question refers to the US, and that by company you mean publisher. The amount of money a publisher stands to make varies very widely, and judging their success is difficult because most aren't publically traded and thus not required to publicise their earnings, and very few companies publish only manga: specifically they also tend to distribute anime DVDs or other comics.

Probably the most successful company known for publishing primarily manga has been Viz. They started in the 80s reworking manga into traditional-sized comic books, and went on to publish some of the industry's biggest and most successful titles, including Pokemon, Yu-Gi-Oh, One Piece, and Death Note, as well as the anthologies Shonen Jump and Shoju Beat.

But the current manga industry is in a slump, and many smaller publishers have either folded entirely or diversified into other ventures.
