What to do if you find a starfish?

Dry it. You can air dry it but it will look shrivelled and brown, but if you buy a large pack of washing soda crystals, put a couple of inches in the bottom of a plastic box, put the starfish flat on the crystals then cover the starfish with more crystals until they are at least two inches (5cm) above the highest part of the starfish... DO NOT put an air tight lid on, but a few sheets of kitchen towel held imminent with string to allow water vapours to escape.. Put away in a warm dry place for 8 weeks. Starfish will be dried out but retain it's shape and colour.
