What is the analysis for the short story twirler by Jane marin.. im really confussed any ideas will help?

I think the best why to interpret it, is to take it quite literally. At the beginning, she says she couldn't compete at the highest level because her hands were crushed by the horse Big Blood Red - who clipped her wings. Later, she says that Big Blood Red is god himself and can only be seen through this ritual of cutting your wrist while throwing the batons. So she cut her wrists, but lived. She was prevented from joining god and getting her wings. She was not allowed to attain the highest level = that of the angels. I think she names the feelings and images she sees with Words that are familar to her - God Satan, horses - just because those are the only Words she has, not because those Words are accurate. She DOES transcend into the spiritual afterlife, but can't name with anything but Christian/ Midwestern names.
