Why doesn't the bird just Fly away in falconry?

During the process of training and manning a bird, it learns to cooperate and work with it's falconer. It learns that the falconer is now the provider of food and it becomes a a sort of symbiotic relationship. That being said, hawks and falcons may still become lost during intense hunts. In this case telemetry is the best possible equipment to waste money on.
