I can't tell you the sticker price of a 1962 Rolls-Royce, but in 1963 I wrote a research paper on the Rolls-Royce and received a packet of sales literature from England, including pricing for the 1963 models. At that time the "basic" Rolls-Royce, without custom coachwork, sold for just over $17,000. That'd be just about $110,000 in today's money. In 1963 the Rolls-Royce and the Bentley were identical except for the radiator grilles and a few insignias. The price difference of $300 came from the difference in grille materials--the Rolls-Royce employing stainless steel, and the Bentley, chrome-plated brass. You might be interested to know that there was a Rolls-Royce factory in Springfield, Massachusetts in the early 1920's. The models produced there were identical to their English counterparts, except of course for being equipped with left-hand drive. Curiously, the Springfield Rolls-Royces sold poorly, perhaps because an American-built Rolls-Royce just didn't have the snob appeal of an English automobile, and eventually the stateside factory shut down.
