Is the Florida manatee hatched or born alive?

The Florida manatee is born alive rather than hatched. Manatees are mammals, and like other mammals, they give birth to live young after a gestation period of about 13 months. A typical calf weighs around 60 to 70 pounds at birth and is usually about 4 to 5 feet long.
