How do you pronounce Virchow?

Most Americans pronounce it Ver-chow (Ver rhymes with ter as in butter, chow rhyming with cow. )

But the proper German pronunciation would be something like Fear-koff, since the v would sound like an f (fan) , the ir would be ear, the chwould make a hard k sound (kite), and the owwould make a sound somewhere between of and off.
