My husband had peripheral vascular surgery November 16, 2009. By the first of January 2010, he was doing Yoga stretching exercises and walking 3 miles per day. The only residual post operative problem he had was gall bladder inflammation and had subsequent surgery to remove it February 16, 2010.

At this time, March 7, 2010 he is going to the gym 3 days a week where he walks on the treadmill at 4.2 mph for 25 minutes, uses the Nustep equipment for another 13 minutes on Level 7, then rides the stationery bicycle for another 23 minutes - in addition to his daily Yoga stretching exercises.

He is so happy to be able to walk without pain - "...feels like I'm walking on a trampoline." As you can tell by his exercise, he is not and was not a sedentary person - until he could hardly walk 25 ft without severe pain.
