Where is the starter located on a 2000 volkswagen jetta?

It's slightly to the left of the battery, and deep. If you look at the battery connectors/cables you will see that the positive one (red) has an extra wire that is thinner than the main one, follow it down and it should be connected to the starter/syllanoid.
