What is the level of education is needed to be a auto mechanic?

I personally started by going to knight school and looked for a job as a mechanics helper, lube boy, clean up boy. When to school for 2 years at a community college after about 3 years of school and working at the same time I graduated for riverside community college T-TEN program a program design for Toyota vehicles only.
