Giant Pandas rarely have more than one cub at a time. If they do give birth to two, they will focus on the stronger cub to care for because they generally only produce enough milk to raise one at a time.
Usually they have one baby at a time but Giant pandas give birth to twins in about half of pregnancies. If twins are born, usually only one survives in the wild. The mother generally chooses the stronger one and neglects the younger until it dies.
