When was the smartwatch invented?

The first watch that was capable for storing information was probably the Pulsar NL C01 watch back in 1982. Arguably, this is considered the first smartwatch. Memory bank-type watches like these were quite prevalent during the 1980's, and became popular with runners and athletes.
