Who are the characters in the adventures of Odysseus?

There are many, many characters in Homer's Odyssey. The main character for whom the epic poem is named is Odysseus, a king who fought with Greek heroes at Troy and is gone for over 20 years while attempting to return to his home in Ithaca. Penelope is his wife; Telemachus is their son. Laertes is Odysseus's elderly father. Antinous, Eurymachus, and Amphinomus are among Penelope's suitors while Odysseus is gone. Eumaeus is a shepherd loyal to Odysseus; Eurycleia is a servant loyal to Odysseus's family. Melantho is a servant in the palace; Melanthius is her brother who supports the suitors vying for Penelope's hand. Nestor is the king of Pylos that fought with Odysseus in the war; Menelaus is the king of Sparta that led the Greeks in the war. Agememon is Menelaus's brother and former king of Mycenae.
