What is a drawback of electric vehicles?

One of the main drawbacks of Electrical Vehicles is that they have to be put on charge for long time after a certain number of miles. Another drawback is the cost of an electric car. The Tesla Roadster has a price of US$109,000 in the U.S. and a base price of £86,950 in the UK and €84,000 in continental Europe. Conveting a engine-powered car into electric isn't that much cheaper either.
