What is the Licked Hand legend?

A young girl, about 15 years of age, was left home alone by her parents. They were going to a firend's birthday party, and were expected home very very late. The girl said goodbye to her mom and dad, ate some leftover pasta from the previous day, did her homework, and then sat down to watch T.V. with her dog, a golden retriever. As she watched Family Guy, she acidentally pressed domething on the remote and the channel changed to the news. She was about to go back to Family Guy, when she heard something that caught her attention. "A mentally ill patient has escaped from an asylum. He is unpredictable and deadly, not exactly murderous, but his mind is mixed up and no one knows what he might do next. Be on the look-out. That is all." The announcer said. The girl got scared, so she made sure all the Windows were closed then made sure the front and back doors were locked. She went to close the basement Windows, but they wouldn't close. So she just locked the basement door. She decided to go to bed a little early because she was still scared, and so she brushed her teeth, got in her PJ's and layed down. Her dog assumed his position under the bed. She drifted off to sleep, but awoke at midnight to a DRIP DRIP DRIP! coming from her bathroom. She got scared, so she reached her hand down, the dog licked it, and she fell asleep again. She awoke again at 3:45 AM to the same DRIP DRIP DRIP! She reached under her bed, her dog licked her hand and that was that. At 6:57 AM, she awoke to two noises. One was the usual DRIP DRIP DRIP and the other was her parents' car pulling into the driveway. Her dog licked her hand, and she gathered enough courage to go see what the dripping was. She entered her bathroom, and screamed. The dripping noise had been her dog; it had been stabbed and hung in the shower, blood dripping from its neck. She turned to the mirror, where written in the dog's blood, it said "HUMANS CAN LICK TOO!!!"

The Licked Hand is an urban legend, and urban legends are targeted at frightening you of every day things. It turns out the madman had entered the girls home, murdered her dog, and started licking her hand (Yeah, he was that psycho!). This is supposed to warn you: Make sure it's your DOG whose licking your hand!
