Seahorses do not undergo metamorphosis in the traditional sense, as seen in insects or amphibians. Instead, they have a unique reproductive process where the male seahorse carries and nurtures the developing embryos in a specialized pouch. After a gestation period, the fully formed miniature seahorses are released from the pouch, resembling small adults rather than going through distinct larval stages. Thus, while they experience significant life changes, it doesn't classify as metamorphosis.
