Are common Toads also known as American Toads or their scientific name Bufo Americanus poisonous?

They are poisonous, but to humans it is harmful. I have been squirted in the mouth with the poison multiple times. Nothing happens. It is just extremely bitter, so anything that preys on them would want to spit them out.
