The body's pain response is letting you know that something is wrong in one or more of its systems. The phrase: 'No pain , No gain", is a falsehood. If you have significant pain of 6/10-10/10 on a 1-10 scale, for more than 7-10 days, you should see a doctor. If this pain is chest, arm, or heart, neck, lung or posterior knee (with quick dorsi- (backward) flexion of foot) or head-related pain, etc., you should call 911. Everyone's pain threshold is different, and "you" are the best judge of your own pain. Pain is a basic, inherent and individual response from your body that indicates a problem, and should be thoroughly investigated. This is a complex issue that should be discussed with a doctor, D.O. or N.P as soon as you believe it is a problem and not something that can always be "walked off" or ignored, especially with children and sports issues . If you believe it is emergent pain and unrelenting, call 911 or your doctor A.S.A.P.. I accept no responsibility for this answer, and someone certainly could improve or elaborate more extensively.
