The only wood shavings that are safe for small pets, especially guinea pigs, are aspen shavings. DO NOT USE CEDAR. Carefresh bedding is hypoallergenic and the best option for bedding. Using exclusively hay isn't a very good idea, as it's not soft enough for guinea pigs to walk and sleep on if it's the only bedding used.

This is perfectly normal, he/she probably just has an allergy. Try using straw instead of hay/sawdust as its less dusty.

If it's all the time, he may need to go to the vet. If it's just an occasional sneeze, he's probably fine.

Cedar woodchips as bedding make most, if not all, small fuzzy animals sneeze. Switch to pine or aspen or something other than wood shavings to stop it. If there's still sneezing, see the vet asap.

It is not normal for your pig to sneeze more than once every day/few days! I have had four guinea pigs, and I have sadly lost 3 of them to upper respatory infections. The main sign of this illness is sneezing! If your pig sneezes be sure to separate it from all other small pets because it is EXTREMELY contagious. Take your pig right to the vet!

There are many things that can make a Piggy Sneeze, the two most common are Upper Respiratory Infections, and Allergies. If your piggy is sneezing a lot, go to the vet. The first action would be a round of antibiotics. If that doesn't work, your vet can also try putting your Piggy on a Antihistamine (Like Benadril). Hope that helps!

don't use penicllian or ambacillin Not strictly to do wjth subject but add to warnig on cedar shaving bedding. AVOID any percentage of black walnut wood shavings. Recently learnt that even 10 or 20 % black walnut woodshavings in stable bedding for horses, can lead to founder (laminitis) in less than 48 hours. With that sort of effect on horses, and a lot more worrying info in gov't sites for America and Canada, best to keep well away.
